There Is Professional Help Available For Retail Closings

The retail economy today is causing tens of thousands of business to close. Nobody is immune; even superstars such as Macy’s and Starbucks. Hundreds of other nationally known stores are finding it necessary to close some or all stores. Ive noticed that nearly all are using professional store closing consultants. And, there are many choices. For starters, a search engine search is a good place to begin. For this article I did a search on all three of the top search engines, Google, Yahoo!, and MSN and The Waldoff Group, owned by retail veteran Milton Waldoff came up as number one retail turnaround expert on all three. I went to his website and saw a litany of testimonials, all glowing reports from the firms current and previous clients, apparently all agreeing his pricing is reasonable, and not only justifiable but in retrospect, necessary for survival.

Why Referrals are the Life-Blood of Any Business

Ask any good business owner how he generates most of his business and he will instantly tell you that he does it through referrals. Ask him to explain his referral system to you and you are very likely to get a blank stare. Only this week I asked the vice president of two large companies what type of referral system they had in place. Both said, they didn’t, referrals just happen. So does death, but it doesn’t mean you should wait around for it!

Business Success Revolves Around Relationship Management

At the center of business and personal success are the relationships we develop and maintain. It’s interesting that there is very little focus on how to do this well. Likable, honest individuals are much more likely to be sought out for new business than someone who has a reputation for being difficult. Focusing attention on improving your communication skills and relationship management can be the difference between success and failure.

Where Have All the Top Performers Gone?

If the weak economy is a concern for your business, take a moment to look out across the office, branch or factory floor. The people there are all youve got. These are the people who will find the cost savings, woo new customers, get more done with less, deliver great service and drive your bottom line even when they are feeling stressed. In boom times there is a lot of talk of talent wars, but its the tough times when the reality of just how much top talent matters, strikes home. So now is a good time to pause and think, ‘Are the processes we use to attract, identify, hire, engage and retain top performing talent the right ones? Are we doing what we need to do so that our team is strong enough to take us through uncertain, perhaps daunting, business conditions?”

How Much Fun Are You As a Home-Based Business Owner?

You may have started a home-based business to create freedom and fun in your life, but more often than not, the daily responsibilities take their toll and leave you feeling tired and cheated of sharing in the fun. The good news is it doesn’t have to be this way. Fun is mandatory to your success and sometimes it just takes a little reminder every now and then to get you back into the game.
